You may be eligible for compensation if you:

Are a Commonwealth citizen who settled in the UK before 1988.
Are a child or grandchild of a Commonwealth citizen who settled in the UK before 1988.
Are the close family member of someone who has a right of abode or settled status in the UK and you experienced significant difficulties due to their inability to demonstrate their lawful status.
Were wrongfully detained, deported, or experienced significant hardship because of the Windrush scandal.
How to apply for Compensation;

Gather all relevant documents that prove your identity and your circumstances. This may include passports, birth certificates, utility bills, employment records, and any correspondence with government departments.Fill out the application form
The application form can be found on the UK Government website. You can complete it online or download a copy to fill out by hand.Submit your application
Submit your completed application form along with all supporting documents. You can do this online, by post, or via email.Seek assistance
